Jonathan Sokol is often sought after as an educator: he is currently an Assistant Professor in Baldwin Wallace University's composition department, and teaches composition during the  Baldwin Wallace Conservatory Summer Institute. He has served as adjunct faculty at Cleveland State University, the  Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and the Defiance College. He has served as Artist Faculty at Brevard Music Center for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He is a composer-in-residence with the Boulder Symphony Orchestra.

He has been recognized with an invitation to the Millay Colony For the Arts (2013); with The Boston New Music Initiative call for scores (2013); as a programmed composer on the Bowling Green State University New Music Festival (2012); as a finalist in the 2013 MATA Festival competition (2012); with an invitation to the SANDWICH artist residency program in Kyoto, Japan (2012); with an Honorable Mention in the 32nd annual ASCAP Foundation Rudolf Nissim Prize (2012); has been named a recipient of an ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Award (2010) and an ASCAPlus Award (2010-13); has won the 2nd annual MAYO Composition Contest (2010); has won the Indiana University Kuttner String Quartet composition competition (2007); has received a Susan and Ford Schumann Scholarship for the Aspen Music Festival and School (2007); and was the winner of the 8th annual NEC/BMOP ConNECtion competition (2005). 

His music has been performed by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, the Boulder Symphony Orchestra, The Boston New Music Initiative, and the Indiana University New Music Ensemble, as well as read by members of the Cleveland Orchestra. He has received international performances in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Brazil, and commissions from Holographic, Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, Zzyzx Saxophone Quartet, and the Baldwin-Wallace University Men's Chorus among others. 

An avid trombonist and performer, Sokol has appeared at numerous venues in the greater Cleveland, Chicago, Boston and Bloomington areas, and was principal trombone of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra (2009 - 2011). He studied with Allen Kofsky at Baldwin Wallace, and completed a Doctoral Minor in trombone performance at Indiana University with Carl Lenthe. 

Sokol received his Doctorate in music composition at Indiana University's Jacobs School of music, where he was a doctoral fellow and Associate Instructor. His principal teachers were Sven-David Sandström, Michael Gandolfi, Claude Baker and P. Q. Phan. He holds a Masters degree in composition from New England Conservatory, where he studied with Michael Gandolfi and graduated with Honors and Distinction in Performance. His Bachelors was completed at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music as a student of the College's composer-in-residence, Loris Chobanian. Additionally, he has studied with Sydney Hodkinson at the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Michelle Sokol
, MLIS, is an autistic person, parent, and advocate. Michelle earned her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies from Baldwin-Wallace University and attained her master's degree in Library Information Science, where she specialized in Public services for Children and Youth. Michelle is the Executive Director of Beyond Light and Love Nonprofit, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to public education in Positive Problem Solving. She is also a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Thai Massage Practitioner alongside other creative entrepreneurial skills in sewing and ceremonial design. Michelle's passion is public education on a plethora of topics and her special interests are neurology, genetics, cognitive behavioral therapy, and social-emotional studies and energy healing. She has an extensive teaching background of non-traditional and traditional students, and a lifetime of hands-on experience working with many neurodivergent individuals and those on the spectrum.
